Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. We have to accept ourselves for who we are at heart, if we don’t we will never truly be happy when we achieve what can be seen as success. The relationship we have with our body is constantly fluctuating between love, rejection and acceptance. Every morning when we look in the mirror, we see something different. When I talk about loving ourselves, I mean having a deep appreciation for who we are. We accept all the different parts of ourselves, our little peculiarities, the embarrassments, the things we may not do so well, and all the wonderful qualities, too. We have to love ourselves, if we don’t have any love for ourselves trying to give love to somebody else is impossible.
You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection, we must make the right choices, too many times we are tempted to do things that we know deep down are the wrong things to choose to do. We have to accept the whole package with love. Unconditionally. Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world. If only you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person. When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.
When you love yourself you endeavor to take care of yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. You take care to look and feel your best by nurturing your body, mind and spirit. We know what is good for us, and our basic instincts tell us when something is wrong when we may not necessarily know that something is outwardly wrong. We must know that we are not alone, despite who may be around for us physically, emotionally, or spiritually during trying times, it may seem as though no one is around, but if you put your hands together, bow your head, and start talking, God will hear and answer your prayer!
If you are not willing to love yourself today, then you are not going to love yourself tomorrow, because whatever excuse you have today, you’ll still have tomorrow. Maybe you’ll have the same excuse 20 years from now, and even leave this lifetime holding on to the same excuse. Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself , no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are completely; the good, the bad and make changes as YOU see fit, not because you think someone else wants you to be different. Always remember that it ain’t what they call you, it’s what you answer to.
